We run two grab bags with all the required flares and a Rescue Me EPIRB unit in each bag. We have an MOB module which is attached to the push pit aft.

Upgraded Celestial to B&G H5000, we have 6 Garmin displays on the mast and 3 B&G displays in the cockpit, 2 are located aft to display our forestay and bobstay loads. Early 2023 we upgraded our onboard computer to a mini computer and a stand alone screen on a bracket which is able to tack.
Upgraded our AIS unit and splitter. At our last rig service the wiring loom was removed from the mast and replaced along with our masthead VHF antenna.
Recently installed Starlink.
Built in VHF and two handheld radios. We currently use an LT-500 compass with the B&G as a backup, and a Hemisphere GPS with the B&G as backup. 4G modem and wi-fi system. We have a spare masthead wand which is carried onboard when racing offshore

Mast / Rigging
Three spreader Southern Spars rig, including an inshore boom. During the boats transition to offshore racing an offshore 2 reef boom was added.
From the early days of our program, we set out to upgrade and improve the boats offshore capabilities. During 2020 we replaced the top 6mtrs of boltrope track, this included over-laminating the track and adding reinforcement patch's at all batten ends and head at both reef 1 & 2. The area around the gooseneck was reinforced and pad-eyes added to facilitate reefing. The offshore boom had locks installed at the outboard end for both reef 1 & 2. The offshore boom also has a carbon strut which we currently don't use. All this work was carried out by Marine Element again with all design and engineering coming from Southern Spars and Rig Pro in NZ. In 2021 the Ec6 standing rigging was sent back to Spain for servicing, the back stays were replaced for new. In early 2022 the remaining boltrope track was replaced by Marine Element. The mast and booms are serviced annually by Sydney Rigging Specialists, all metal parts are NDTd and in 2022 the forestay tang was sent to be x rayed. We have had the rig re-tuned by Sydney Rigging multiple times looking for the perfect tune. This culminated late last year when we modified the mast once again lowering the backstay attachment points by 800mm, all design work by Southern Spars & composite work by Marine Element.
Deck Gear
Celestial has been fortunate to have a sponsorship with our local Harken office. Our entire winch package is removed and serviced on the bench yearly and prior to a major race they are checked and serviced onboard. We also use Harken and Spinlock deck gear.
2 x Harken MX pedestals with upgraded carbon shafts below, MX overdrive system, 6 gears in total
2 x650 HL self tailing primary winches, drums replaced recently.
2 x 650 HL self tailing mainsheet winches. 2 x 650 HL runner winches, 1 x 500-2 pit winch.
All bevel boxes below are upgraded oil filled boxes
We use a Harken string drop system which mounts to the starboard bevel box, all control lines run into the cockpit. Additionally for inshore racing we install 4 x Unreel sheet retrieval systems, 2 x for spin sheets, 1 for jib halyard and 1 for spin halyard.
We use a Harken Pro-Trim traveller system when racing in inshore mode, this system is removed for our offshore set-up to minimise water ingress.
All our spinnaker blocks are Harken V blocks both 3t and 5t as needed. In hi-load areas downstairs we have upgraded to V blocks.
For our furling sails we run 2 KZ 4t furlers and a KZ 1t for our GS or SS. We utilise an integrator on our MHO to furl "top down".
